![]() ![]() This partnership aligns with President Barron’s imperatives to create unique opportunities for student engagement, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Through this program, we were able to partner with the Learning Factory to provide needed technical assistance to help move company ideas forward through design, proof-of-concept, and prototype assistance. Our partnership with the Learning Factory began in 2014 as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (PA DCED) “Discovered in PA, Developed in PA” (D2PA) program. Over the years, these engineering design capstone projects have provided proof-of-concept and prototype designs that have made a significant impact across the commonwealth. These projects, scoped and presented by business sponsors, allow students to practically design or improve an idea that a business may not have the resources or manpower to tackle. We provide businesses and organizations across the state of Pennsylvania opportunities to engage with engineering students through Learning Factory projects. The Learning Factory provides Penn State undergraduate engineering students the opportunity to tackle real-world problems utilizing classroom engineering design knowledge and tools. The laboratory belongs to MANULAB, a national infrastructure for basic research on manufacturing engineering. We are a proud partner of the Bernard M. Users must have completed an HSE e-learning course, and received training before use. See Festo Didactic for specific information on our Cyber-Physical Learning Factory. ![]() Conducted in an interactive environment conducive to learning, the courses are designed to give you an edge over others professionally. We use this equipment in several of our courses at master and bachelor level. Confidence Factory is the place where you can improve your communication skills and add boost your self-confidence elements which are the keys to success in today’s world. #THE LEARNING FACTORY ONLINE SOFTWARE#We use this equipment for research on Industry 4.0 as a system, and the interaction between operators, software and machines. It is also adapted for AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality). ![]() There are a large number of built-in sensors and associated software for simulation, planning, analysis, and data capture (ERP, MES, robotic programming, PLC programming and material flow analysis). #THE LEARNING FACTORY ONLINE SIMULATOR#The factory is a full-scale simulator of a real industrial production with conveyor belts, robots, machining, autonomous transport units and automatic bearings. The Learning Factory is used for education and research in Industry 4.0. More information about opening hours will come. The laboratories are available by appointment. The laboratories can be used by students at the bachelor, master and PhD level, in addition to researchers, for both teaching, study projects and research. Aligning our staff with the tools and guidance to accommodate children’s natural curiosity and exceptionalities give great support when building problem solving skills and confidence. MANULAB is open for all researchers including industry, although the latter is limited by the ESA regulations. approach provides teachers have an array of talents and specialties. ![]()
